The 16th session of  China Import & Export Fair, Kunming, (popularly called Kunming Fair) is an international trade fair sponsored jointly by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and seven of China’s provincial governments –Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Tibet, Chongqing and Chengdu – and cosponsored by several organizations from home and abroad.
　　Kunming fair has been held successfully every year since 1993; this year is the 16th session. Each year attracts about 5,000 overseas businessmen from around 40 countries. There are over 2,000 booths at each session, which include many international joint venture companies and companies from other Asian & Southeast Asian countries.
　　Kunming Fair covers import and export trade and technology, cross-border trade, investment promotion, and economic and technological cooperation. There are pavilions for all sectors from Machinery & Electronics; Agricultural Products; IT Industry; Chemicals & Minerals; Light Industries & Textiles; and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare Products. There are also theme pavilions, including the International Pavilion (ASEAN, South Asia and other countries), Cross-border Trade, the service Industry, Foreign Trade & Investment, and Investment Promotion.
